  • Tuff Stuff

I am a huge fan of Meguiar's products, and believe their line is the best out there. However, after repeated trialing of the carpet/upholtestry cleaner, I am afraid it receives the thumbs down.

I purchased a carpet/upholtestry cleaner called Tuff Stuff. Unreal results. My carpets and seats literally look brand new.

Yes, I tried APC on my carpets, but poor results.

    Re: Tuff Stuff

Hey, I also love Tuff Stuff, and it is very low price wise too. APC can achieve just as good as, and better results if used properly. Tuff Stuff is extreme Foaming aerosol product, where APC is a liquid/water based cleaner. Meguiars Quik Out is what you would want to use if you prefer the style of Tuff Stuff.

APC or APC+ on the other hand works better on ALL surfaces. On carpets and seats you need to use an interior brush to agitate the dirt or stain. APC also works wonders on alloy wheels, wheel wells, plastic, interior trim, etc.

There are some "how to" threads for APC, but I agree I love Tuff Stuff too!

      Re: Tuff Stuff

Like Megafast said, all purpose cleaner can be used in multiple areas, where tuff stuff is just a dedicated carpet cleaner, which is probably why it didn't produce as great of results. Try some Quik Out! Work even better than APC+

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
      Remove swirls my friends.

APC is the only thing I use on carpets, sometimes APC Plus.

          Re: Tuff Stuff

When I first started, Tuff Stuff was all I used. Now Like tuck says, All I use is APC+. Have to admit. The Tuff Stuff did do a very good job.

            Guys,

I did try the quick out with not so good results! I will check the threads out on the APC use (I am pretty sure diluted properly for my carpets/upholestry)

            Thanks

              Re: Tuff Stuff

i have used both, first tuff stuff and then apc, believe me the cleaning power of APC is a lot better than tuff stuff, doesnt meen that its a bad product but APC is a LOT better....even the smell that tuff stuff leaves its more like chemical, apc is pure fresh!

I wish we can get APC here in Australia soon.

Might smell chemically, but Tuff Stuff mixed with Simple Green smells just like that new car smell...

                    Re: Tuff Stuff

I always use Tuff Stuff whenever I have an issue with carpet stains. Sometimes some sort of little black foam bits will come out of my rear air vents and the rear passengers will lackadaisically grind them into the carpets. Tuff Stuff takes out the stains with ease. I've even used it for spills everywhere else.

Try different brands of shampoo or carpet cleaner and Tuff Stuff seams to work the best.
