  • Leather care question

I've been using Mothers leather care product from the Reflections product line on my Firebird's leather seats and other interior panels. I like the low gloss sheen that it provides. Since I've recently started using Meguiars on the exterior of the car I was considering going with them for the interior as well. What type of finish does Meguiars leather products leave on the surface: dull, satin or glossy? I want to stay away from the glossy/oily look and stay towards the satin/low gloss appearance. Any pics would be great for comparison. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Leather care question

meguiars makes a few leather care products..the best one for low gloss, and a natural sheen would be meguiars gold class rich leather lotion.

here's an older thread to check out..

      Re: Leather care question

As mentioned in the thread, I found the Gold Class 2-Step Cleaner and Conditioner to be lower gloss when I used it, so some will depend on your leather.

Either way, the Consumer Line products are low gloss, esp with a second wipe. As shown in the thread, the Detailer Line product is glossiest.

Here is another vote for the gold class. I liked using it a lot.

I bought the Gold Class (black bottle) and it's just the sheen I'm looking for, low gloss and natural. I guess I'm different in the fact that I don't like the super glossy shines on my leather, vinyl, tires and such... looks like someone smeared Vaseline all over the them. I prefer a low gloss or satin-like sheen.

            Wierdo.....

I like glossy products for my dash/plastic, but mine is very textured, so it doesnt look as glossy.

Exactly. That's why we make products that offer high shine, low shine, spray format, gel, wipes, lotion, aerosols, etc for a variety of surfaces. Not everybody likes the same level of shine, or even application method.
