  • SwirlX or M83?

What is the main diff. between the SwirlX and the M83 dual action compound? And what is the the best wax to top coat it with? The main colors I am doing is red and blue, Oh-Yea I am using a G110 DA.

M83 utilizes diminishing abrasive technology and SwirlX uses Super Micro Abrasive Technology. two entirely different products.

SwirlX usually finishes LSP ready but M83 sometimes needs following up with M80.

My truck is red and I like the look i get from NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 or Gold Class Liquid Wax.

In addition to what Tuck91 said, you can also followup with M82 with good results before applying your LSP.

M20, M21 2.0, or NXT 2.0 are all great products to end with as they offer wonderful shine and durability.

Best Wax is kind of a personal thing, I'm sure others will chime in on this question...

There's thousands of different paint systems on the market, that means there's thousands of different paint systems on the cars on the road today. So any time you work on a pain system you've ever worked on before you would do a TEST SPOT and then decide. (It helps to have more than one product for cleaning and polishing but you can start with M83)

That means you would buff a small section with M83 and inspect the results in different kinds of light. The idea being that the paint should look great after your cleaning and polishing step before applying wax and if not then troubleshoot until you dial in a "system" (pad, product, process), until it does look great, then apply the wax, let it dry and inspect the final results.

After you dial in a process that has proven itself to work in one small section then you duplicate that process over the entire car.

            Here you go...

            TEST SPOT

            Doing A Test-Spot

Before going over the entire car, see if you can make just one small section look good, that is apply the product you're planning on using over the entire car to just one small section about a foot squared or so. Work it in and then wipe it off, then apply the polish, work it in but not as much as the compound because now you're not trying to remove paint, just spread the product out, then immediately wipe it off, then apply the wax and let it fully dry and then wipe it off.

Now inspect our results. Make sure you can make one small section look GREAT before going over then entire car. If you can't make one small section look GREAT you won't be able to make the entire car look GREAT.

            Make sense?

            It should look like this,

And if you're having any problems, the post back here after the test section and we'll help you tweak your technique to insure you get it right.
