  • Versa-Angle Body Duster

I received my Duster today. Been on backorder for a month or 2. Just figured I would put out a post to let those folks know who have ordered or are wanting to order that they are back in stock.

I had been using the CA Duster. Worked fine. I might even put the Meg's duster away and break it out come spring. Liekly a good idea to change them out once a year anyway.

Just sitting here looking at it. The handle comes off so it's not as long as the CA Duster when the handle is off. Better for trunk storage. Also, the brush head itself appears to be much wider than the CA. Likely no major benifit there, just an observation.

Says Paraffin treated dust head. Likely wise not to wash these. No washing instructions provided. Fine for me. I never washed the CA either. My plan was to buy a new one each spring whether the old one was dirty or not.

Uses same handle as other Meg's Versa Angle brushes. Works for me, I can put the short handle brush on to dust the dash if the need hits me. Probably wise to get a dedicated head for that stuff though

Also got my duster delivered today. Have not tried it yet.

From the info I have read on this forum, you would definitely not want to wash the duster or use it on hot surfaces as either would alter the parafin coating on the brush or let the wax streak the surface.

Just use it til it is too dirty and buy another one.

I guess if it had not rained right when I got home I probably would have!

I still like that one "go dust something!"

My neighbors already think I'm nuts. They don't know it's just that I am CRAZY! Car crazy!

My neighbors think I am screwy as well. Until.... They are out doing their bi-annual wash & wax. I fire up a cigar, walk up and mess with them. Usually it does not take them long before they start asking questions. I give them a hard time about their wash methods. They usually say " I have done it this way all of my life". Then I break out the Xenon Light. They get kinda quiet then and start listening a bit better. Especially when I hand it to them and tell them to go look at mine. They look for a few seconds and realize sometimes the idiot next door just might have something to say worth listening to.

Call me old fashioned but dusting a car scares the hell out of me! I'd rather use the QD!

I do both. Dust first then hit it with the QD. Thus far, I have seen no scratches from the duster. But I have seen minor scratches from QDing. I use Speed Detailer, Quick Detailer and Last Touch. All with the Quick Detail pad. I have seen a few very minor scratches as the result of daily QDIng. That is the main reason I switched to relying on a body duster.

I park close to several trees and I have seen things blow out of them that I don't want to risk getting caught in the QD pad and then rubbing across the finish. The duster seems to do a great job of getting this kind of stuff out of the way.

that's why I decided to pick up the Meg's body duster.
I rather use a duster to dust and clean the surface of anything.
than, use the QD to shine it up a bit.

it scares me sometimes when I use the QD, because I never know if I am putting minor scratches onto it.
I guess if I can't see it. than I shouldn't worry too much.
