  • Freezing temperatures and products

I've got almost every Meguiar's product in my garage and the freezing temps of winter are moving in... 32 this am.. brrr... j

I'm sure freezing and thawing isn't the best for these chemicals but my question is two-fold:

    1. Which products are ruined if they freeze?

    2. Which have to have something special done if they do freeze and thaw (maybe several times). Such as shake very well, warm to a high temp and shake, etc.

    Thanks!

I would protect all the detailing products from freezing... a friend of mine stored his in a non insulated garage and his entire collection of products were ruined. It can get expensive to replace what you have accumulated.

I've got so much stuff I had to build a special cabinet for it all. Probably measures 4'x4' and the swing out doors all have shelves on them too. It would take one he** of a bucket to hold that stuff .. and come to think of it, I don't even have a basement!!

Well, if they really do get affected from freezing, then I'm going to do what I did with the cabinet that has my finishing products (my garage doubles as a woodworking shop) ...

I'm going to install a fixture inside the cabinet with a 60 watt bulb that burns continuously.

I bring in all my stuff for the winter. I the majority of my stuff in a 50 gallon tub, yes 50 gallon, and then put the stuff I use very regulariry inot a smaller box. Its not worth the risk of leaving stuff outside.

i've used other products and they have all said "protect from freezing or product will separate".. it would be nice to see this on Megs labels just to inform the consumer
