  • Getting Rid of Vinyl "Etchings"

    Hello,

I brought a used car and the previous owner did not take very good care of it. The plastic/vinyl below the front bumper is Silver in color and has been etched due to tar, bugs, bird droppings, etc. I have cleaned it the best I can with soap and water but how can I get rid of these "etchings." Can I use Scratch X or is it only for painted surfaces? Thanks for any advice.

    P.S.
The car is a PT cruiser

If the surface is a matte finish or bare plastic, not painted, then don't use any wax or polish on it.

What type of vehicle is it? That would help some of the folks here who have similar materials on similar vehicles identify exactly how they got rid of such problems or how they would treat it.
See the big picture, enjoy the details
