  • Random Orbit Polisher Speeds.

I have an Hitachi FSV-13Y random orbit sander (we can't get the PC here in Australia).

I have seen the PC chart detailing the various speed settings for each product. As the Hitachi (6,500 - 11,000 opm) appears to be a lot faster than the PC (2,500 - 6,000 opm), I'm wondering what speeds I should use to apply various products.

The Hitachi has 5 speeds. If the speed settings are linear, it would work out to be:

    1 - 6,500

    2 - 7,625

    3 - 8,750

    4 - 9,875

    5 - 11,000

    Thanks for any advice.

    Steve

The numbers for the pc are rated at opc whereas the Hitachi numbers you have is the rpm speeds. I have a GMC and is rated at 4000-12000 rpm).

      Hi Chris,

You're right, I hadn't noticed that. So what speeds do you use for various tasks?
