  • NXT vs DC#3

I already bought a bottle of the NXT liquid wax, but at the time I bought it I had not considered doing anything more than washing and then applying it.

Now I am leaning towards possible claying, using DC#2 first.
Which is a better follow on? DC#3 or the NXT?

I asked in my other thread, but where does the Cleaner wax fit into this equation??

I prefer the NXT over the DC3.

The steps you have above of washing, claying, cleaning and waxing work great!

Actualy, in the steps listed above you only mention claying, polishing and waxing. Do get the best look and durability, using a mild cleaner like DC#1 would be a better start. It is almost more important than polishing really. Without cleaning the paint, the polish and wax will just be sitting over dirt, not getting to the paint.

this is just my preference, but if you have a dark colored car (black for me) I prefer applying 2 coats of NXT 12 hours apart, then one coat of DC 3. The NXT is good protection and shine and the DC 3 is great depth and richness of color.

Usually, my maintenence schedule is either:

DC 1, DC 2, NXT, NXT, DC 3

        or if things get swirly:

DC 1, #83 (if needed), #9, NXT, NXT, DC 3

DC 3 by itself looks great, but if this car is your daily driver, I wouldn't recommend it because natural canauba waxes tend to "wear off" quite quickly compared to synthetic waxes like NXT.

Have fun, either way, you'll be suprised at how good your car looks and feels!

I like the DC3. The NXT probably looks a little better at first, but the DC3 seems to hold up a little better, imo. Of course, I am kinda partial to the carnauba based waxes. No. 26 would look good also. I have always had good luck with DC3, and it has always protected my finishes very well. It's a great wax for the money.
