  • New product, microscope and swirl spotter

    Hi guys,

I am looking to do some Market Research on this product I have had some help come up with.

It is basically a torch for spotting swirls and microscope all in one.

Now this tool is valuable to myself without being an all in one, but, if it was all in the same casing and only took one hand to operate then I would be very happy indeed.

I am a keen Detailer myself, but, I am also an Honours student at University, my course is Product Design and Development.

I would basically be Designing the case from scratch (pardon the pun) and taking it all the way to the launch.

This is where you guys come in, you give me a yes or no whether you think its useful or not, any other features you would like to see included.

I aim to sell it for around 20-30 bucks.

Gimmie some feedback and any ideas too.

    John.

    How about a maybe?

Using a swirl finder has it's place, but if you practice this craft long enough you should come to the point where you don't need a swirl finder because your pad, product choice, tool choice and technique have been perfected to the point of not leaving any swirls.

Here's and example of following a process and checking the results by wiping the finish down with a 50/50 mixture of Isopropyl Alcohol and Water. However, the results would have been the same had I left the car in the garage and not taken the time to wipe it down and drive the car into the sun and inspected the results, (And stood on a ladder and taken pictures )

Before - Swirls to be removed

Cropped out section from the above photo

    After M84 - First Step

    Wipe-Down - After Third Step

Third Step Results After Wiping Down with a 50/50 mix of Isopropyl Alcohol and Water and then pulled out into the full sun

Results after Fourth Step, (M80/W-8006/G100), and Fifth and Sixth Steps, (M21 x 2/W-9006/G100)

Its really aimed when your lighting outside or inside is not good enough so you whip out this guy and bam, there they are.

Its an alternative really, when the sun dips away then you can use this.

That's a good point. I don't know about the rest of the forum members but when you get a working model, send one my way as I would like to be a tester for you.
