  • Can this scratch be fixed, or helped at all?

    Hey all

I bought my truck second-hand, and it came with a scratch that I didn't notice when I bought it. A body shop stated that the entire panel would need to be repainted. Is there anything that you can think of that can help me here? Seems to me a paint pen might help. 2022 Honda Ridgeline.

Tough to get pics to under 2MB... had to use an online resizer to get them that small and it screwed up the orientations. Hope they're still usable.

Drying towel to get the pics in focus and to help with scale.

Body shop appears to have answered correctly.

Here is a frequently used test. Very lightly run your fingernail across the scratch, it looks like the nail will drop into the scratch. Not going to rub out.

Dr ColorChip is an alternative that I have had some success using,
This will not make it perfect, yet it can make it much less noticeable.
You can also remove it quickly if you don't like your results and then try again.
We used it on my Midnight Burgandy Pearl 2018 Civic at one of the Thursday Night Open Garage sessions.

Thanks for the reply. I had so much trouble posting this I gave up. I might try the Dr Color Chip method. I figured a paint pen of some sort would at least help.
