    Odd Paint Discoloration.

    I'm a neophyte so I have no idea what I'm dealing with. I'm 3rd owner. The paint is Mercedes Tenorite grey metallic
    755/7755​. I only can see it in direct sunlight and not in the shade. I used Meguiar's Ultimate Polish
    and it appeared to improve. I think I'm doing this all wrong.

    I don't want to wet sand. Could I use a polishing compound or something else that is safer?

    Is this oxidation or clear coat damage? Opinions?

    It looks like clear coat damage, possibly from etching. Since Ultimate Polish helped, try a light polishing compound like Meguiar's Ultimate Compound for more improvement. Apply gently by hand or with a dual-action polisher. If the issue persists, consider professional paint correction or applying a ceramic coating to restore and protect the finish. Always follow up with a sealant or wax for added protection.
