Hi all..was just pondering over this for some time. I'm just curious wether the dilution ratio Meguiars directs for it's shampoos is to ne strictly followed or not..

Because I am using them at a lower rate for eg. 3 cap fulls per 5 litres works brilliantly..am I okay in doing this??

We would recommend using them at the recommended dilution in order to ensure maximum performance, whatever characteristic it may be, swirl prevention, gloss, wax protection (if using a wash & wax), added slickness, etc.

Most people use much more than directed which is not required, but there are not really any significant negative impacts either.

Using less could have some slight negative impacts as mentioned above. Good news is with any of our washes, only a small amount is required, as most are 1 ounce per gallon of water.

Thanks for the info Nick..but am I not right in saying as long as the shampoo feels slick on the paint then it's all fine??

I use Detailer shampoo plus btw..and am surprised it has the same dilution as your consumer products, I would have thought it to be more powerful?

Well, they're trying to have enough soap/oilyness to provide good lubrication, so that the dirt, and any mitt doesnt scratch the surface.
