  • Foam cannon dilution knob

Hello, I have a month old MJJC Foam Cannon Pro V2 and it was working fine the first couple of times. But after a while, it seems that the water pressure is being blocked when I turn the dilution knob fully clockwise. I have to turn it counterclockwise over halfway for it to start producing foam, otherwise it's just weak pressure with soapy water. I ran clean water through the foam cannon after every use. It also seems that every time I wash my car, the foam cannon gets clogged or something where I have to turn the dilution knob counterclockwise even more.

The only soaps I have used in the foam cannon were Hyper Wash and GSF, which don't contain any waxes, so I'm not sure how the foam cannon possibly got clogged. My pressure washer is a Karcher K4 Compact with 1885 psi (130 bar) and 1.8 GPM (420L/h) and both the 1.25mm and 1.1mm orifices produced a lot of foam the first two times I used the foam cannon. After this problem occurred, I replaced the pressure washer gun and the problem persisted.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? The water I use is soft. I previously had the Autoglym foam cannon and after like 6 months the same thing happened to it. I don't think the issue is from the pressure washer because it happened first with my Autoglym foam cannon, so I replaced it with the MJJC foam cannon and the same issue happened to the MJJC foam cannon after a while. Thank you.

Is it possible you have hard water that is leaving calcium and other mineral crystals in you cannon?

I use soft water and also have a filter before the water enters the pressure washer. Before the MJJC foam cannon, I took the Autoglym foam cannon apart and thoroughly cleaned it but that didn't help. I'll do the same for the MJJC foam cannon and if that doesn't work it's probably defective.

Is there any sort of filter or screen buried inside there to check?

Are you diluting the soap at all?

I found out what was the problem. It's the mesh filters inside the foam cannon. I took it apart and got the filters out and there were three filters: 2 aluminium mesh filters and 1 black filter in between them.

I took out the black thin filter and put back the foam cannon with only the two aluminium mesh filters, and the MJJC foam cannon worked better than new with the same thickness of foam. I'm not sure what's the purpose of that thin black filter. Thanks for the help, as you reminded me of the filters in the foam cannon.

I also dilute the soaps 1:10 and get very thick foam.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your MJJC Foam Cannon Pro V2, where the foam production weakens and requires significant adjustment of the dilution knob to work properly. Since you’ve already ruled out common causes like the pressure washer (Karcher K4 Compact) and the use of appropriate soaps (Hyper Wash and GSF) and orifices, it might be worth checking a few things. The recurring clogging issue suggests potential problems with the foam cannon’s internal components or the dilution knob itself. Even with soft water, soap residues can accumulate in the nozzle or dilution knob, affecting performance. I’d recommend thoroughly disassembling and cleaning the foam cannon, focusing on the nozzle and internal passages. If the problem persists, it might be worth contacting the manufacturer for a detailed inspection or replacement, as repeated issues with different foam cannons suggest a deeper problem.
