  • Had car compounded - still scratched

    Hi,

I live in the UK and have had a friend use the Porter Cable polisher on my Audi A6 quattro, it had been owned by a rather careless man who never really looked after it. My friend used a fine abrasive and overall the car looks fantastic (it is volcano black), but there are a few scratches that are not really very deep but too deep to be brought out by the PC, Is taking the car to a professional company to have the scratches worked on with a rotary buffer the only answer ? Thank you.

    Maybe...

Depends on how deep the scratches are and how thick the paint is. There is a point where you either have to learn to live with it or have it repainted.

Thanks for that, i will give them a try with some Ferecla G3 hand compounding paste first and if no luck i will then take it in for a rotary buffer to do it's business. Thanks for all your help, There is a more friendly and helpful community in the USA compared to the UK. Car detailing in the Uk is not at all as wide as within your country, thank you again and i look forward to learing a lot more over the coming months.
