I just saw a bottle of this so called Brake dust repellent from michelin at autozone and was wondering if anyone ever tried it be4 and does it really work that good.... is it just spray on wax? or some other stuff....

I haven't used it yet, it's a 3 step process requiring the purchase of all 3 products(steps) similar to MEGS DC123.

That's not totally true.... I've used the Brake Dust Repellent before, and I didn't use their other products (basically an all-wheel-and-tire cleaner, and tire dressing). It worked fine as a stand-alone.

I would say, however, that it isn't worth much. It isn't quite a spray wax, as it "sizzles" as it bonds with the wheel surface.... so there's something else going on there.

I don't see that it makes a huge difference though; you're better off just using a spray wax, or a periodic application of normal wax/sealant. It might even give you better results that way than with the Michelin product.

you sure haven't paid much attention. its been out for a while. i tried it on my rims and it worked ok. i can't put wax on my rims ( polished aluminum, not clear coated ) its ok. and it doesn't have to be part of the other steps. the other 2 steps are to clean the tires and to clean the rims.

FWIW, I haven't seen the Michelin product but I have used NXT Tech Wax on my wheels. Not much dust sticks but to keep them clean I just need to blow them off with my air compressor and they are like new. Brake dust doesn't seem to get a solid grip to NXT.
