I would Clay if needed, #80, DC2, NXT.

I'm sure someone else will have a better idea...

A combination that works on just about any finish unless the paint is very very hard and the swirls and scratches are very deep is,

      Wash
      Clay
      M83/W-8006/G100
      M80/W-8006/G100
      NXT/W-9006/G100 x 2
      Remove with bonnet on W-7006/G100

If the swirls aren't too deep you can skip the M83 or spend more time with the M80. I remember you're first try the M83, wasn't it difficult to remove and we talked on the phone and you removed it with M80 and then just switched over to M80?

Some people like to top NXT with M26 for a darker, deeper look.

Mike, isn't 83 more aggressive than 80? If so, wouldn't you use 80 before 83? Like you always say, start with the least aggressive product...

            What?

Actualy, I think I know what you mean...

You are refering to 'when trying to remove a defect, start with the least agresive product'. This is like saying. 'dont start wet-sanding if DC#1 will remove the blemish'.

However, as in this thread, once the blemish is removed, you need to work back to the least agressive products to give a good finish. You wouldnt wet-sand and walk away. You would go to a finer finishing paper, then maybe #4 with a rotary, then #83 with a PC, then #80, etc.. coming back down to the mild products to leave a flawless finish. Then a pure polish and a wax with no abrasives at all to finish it off.

            Hope that clears things up.

Yes, but what you don't know is that I already know this persons background and what they've done to their car's finish. They have already went over the entire car with M80 Speed Glaze. They have now said they want to take the finish to a higher level, because the M80 didn't' take out all of the swirls, so the next most aggressive product to use would be the M83.

Sorry for any confusion there, always use the least aggressive product to get the job done and always perform a "Test Spot" before attempting to go over the entire car.

Thanks Murr. I understand know. I was using the "least aggressive" method in the wrong context. Never having used the 80 series, I only know what I have read. I'm getting ready to purchase a DA, so I want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row.
