  • Does this sort of thing really work?

    Hi,

    Does this product really work?

I mean Wash and Wax all at once seems too good to be true. I am almost under the impression you only get results you work to achieve.

For instance, wash and Quick Wax while drying is not quite as good as waxing and buffing off the haze.

To wash and wax? Sounds too good to be true. Even if it does work, I would suspect it works for 1 week or so. Anybody care to guess or have any experience?

I do not own this product.

I've seen that product and the little wax beads look pretty cool they way they're suspended in the wash gel but I've never tried it.

Meguiar's use to offer a Wash 'N Wax in the Detailer Line and in fact I still have a gallon of it in the garage. I like it for washing cars in excellent condition. I used to use it when I had my Milk Truck and it seem to work really well.

I know someone who uses a similar product and really likes it. Its probably not going to be shine that lasts but just add something for a week (like you said).

IMO kind of gimmicky, kind of.

I have used Blue Coral Wash & Wax before. It is/was OK I guess.

But I did find that it did not seem to put the wax down very evenly. I would have areas where the wax was present and areas where it was not.

Plus, even if you are uing the 2 bucket system, there are particles suspended in both pails of water as well as your wash mit. Seems like a good way to mix dirt with the Wax.

In my eyes, the only reason I might come up with to use a product like this would be say in the middle of winter it's cold but you might have a day where you could do a handwash on the ride but doubt you have the temps to do up a full detail or even a proper wax job. Something like this might be good as a quick fix until the weather breaks.

Don't mistake my enthusiasm for experience.

Did you use the Meguiars Quik Wax on a wet surface? If yes, how did it work? Did you have any difficulty removing it?

I have used that product and I didn't really like it. It was one of the first car washes I used. But then again I didn't really know what I was doing then. Not that I know now, but at least now I know more.

I have used the Meguiar's Quick wax and it works.

              It is simple.

After washing just shake and spray onto the water that is on your car then dry.

You will see the shine and if you spray it again the water will bead fine. Removal is cake. Quick Wax really does work.

It is Carnuba based too, FYI.

The only other waxes out there are Armorall Wax-It-Dry (I am not impressed you can't even spray it on)

              Eagle One (Haven't tried it)

              Rain-X Fast Wax - Haven't tried it.

I have only tried Quick Wax and Armor all Wax it dry.

I am going to tell you to avoid Armor All Wax it Dry like the plague. It works but it isn't easy to remove because it isn't sprayed on. It is sort of squirted on like ketchup go figure. In fact it is the only product that isn't a spray.

I know both Armor All and Meguiars are Carnuba based, I can't say for Eagle and Rain X Fast Wax.

I will tell you that a full wax job done with applicator and buffed to a shine is better than quick wax, but quick wax is very easy and lasts several weeks.

I have had this stuff for a while and I still use it (not on my Roush anymore, but everything else) and it does a good job . The little wax beads work, I guess. I didn't wax my car when I first got it, and it still beaded water, personal preference I guess...

I am going to stick with Gold Class wash and Nxt because I already have it and it works well every time.

I use Gold Class on my cars if they are pretty clean. I use Nxt wash if they are more dirty.

Just a preference, but I have foudn GC leaves the car very shiny doesn't affect the finish as much. Nxt seems to be a bit stronger.

                  Both are Wax safe.

When done with the wash, I use either quick wax ( use it while drying) or I use spray wax. Yes way back when I bought the spray wax instead of the liquid and used it to wax my car. Then I found out it was for maintainence only.

Anyway, my results were still good

The spray was goes on very thin and comes off very easily. Quick wax is faster though.

I would recomend everyone who doens't have to to do a complete wax get the Quick Wax and or the Spray Wax. The Quick is best if you have only 15 minutes to wash wax and dry the car.

Ever done a morning wash? Say 20 nminutes before leaving to go to work?

If so, Gold Class Wash and Quick Wax while you dry it...
