    Morning all,

I'm getting some #16 soon, just wondering if there are tips out there when applying both by hand and DA?

And what combinations including #16 have been tried?

    Thanks
    Bryan

I like applying #16 by hand as #16 is a paste wax. Rememeber to apply thin coats as a little bit of #16 goes a long way.

I have tried #16 over the following:
    AIO
    Color X
#83 followed by #80 (this followed by #16 is one of my favorite combos)
I think I have tried over NXT and Medallion PP.

Long before NXT and M21 we're available, after a thorough machine cleaning with a rotary buffer and then final machine polishing with a dual action polisher I would apply one coat of M20 followed by one coat of M16.

          Thanks Mike,

So these days it would be 1 coat of #21 and finished off with 1 coat of #16 yes?

Also I have been offerd #7 show glaze, where does #7 show glaze come into it, is that a top up......like Spray Wax, or is it VERY short term and is for what it says on the tin ie a "shows"?

            Hey,

It is best to use #7, and seal it in with #21 and the #16.

            #7+#21+#16 = WOW!

Now your talking. I've never tried that exact combo but #7 + NXT + #16 is wow for me. Meg's has got to start making it and selling it Mexico so when I run out I can go to TJ and pick some up.

There is only one problem Buellwinkle #16 has been discontinued, so if you can find it I would stock up now

I probably do 90% of my #16 application by machine and I use it frequently. If you're using the PC/G-100, I'd recommend speed 3-4.5 and a soft finishing pad.

Apply the #16 to the pad as evenly as you can (either by rubbing the pad on the wax or use a spatula of some kind- I use a plastic razor blade). Then try to scrape as much wax back *off* the pad as you can- you don't need much.

Use the machine's orbits-per-minute to "turn the #16 liquid" and try to spread it over as large an area as you can. Don't worry about working it too much, that's seldom a problem as long as you don't "work it dry" (don't do that). Go for a thin, uniform application.

IMO most people use *far* too much #16 and end up buffing most of it off (i.e., wasting it and making the job harder than it needs to be). Applied by machine, a can of #16 lasts me many years and I use it on fairly large vehicles.

                      Hello Accumulator,

Thanks for that, my first application of #16 will be by hand, but I hope to get a DA soon so I have taken note of of your method and will put it to good use for sure

                      Thanks again
