  • Mirror Finish Exhaust Tubing Protection help

I recently polished a SLP Loudmouth cat back exhaust system to mirror finish quality, including all the tubing. The system will be installed on my Mach 1 and I am slowly detailing the under carriage to show quality. The Mach will not (intentionally) see rain or foul weather, but I am looking for some decent shine protection to the hot exhaust tubing/mufflers.

Any suggestions from the Car Crazy Crowd will be appreciated!

    Thanks

Because of the heat these components will be subjected to I'm pretty sure theres no product available to do the thing you're asking for. I will forward this link to Mike Pennington and ask him if there is anything he or R&D knows of, but off the cuff I would have to say there probably isn't a solution to this question/problem.

Sometimes the most you can do is the most you can do and in this case if there is no other solution we would suggest NXT All Metal Polysh, that might be the most you can do.

      Hey,

I agree with Mike. From my experience, the exhaust temps are just too high for any product that I have found. Maybe Mike Pennington will have a suggestion...

thanks for the replies. The final finish is NXT Metal Polysh...after the buffing with wheels/rouges was complete.

I'm sure it will give some short-term protection.

          Agree with Mike and Tim.

There is no long term guaranteed protection against the elements as well as tarnishing in this circumstance.

NXT Generation Metal Polish on a regular basis will keep it looking good!!
