n00b questions

I have '86 Pontiac Fiero that has been repainted black(I'm not sure when but it was not recently). I've only used Turtle Wax Car Wash and Zymol Cleaner/Wax. I wanted to know a few things.

What is the difference between a polish and wax?
I got a wash mitt from walmart, but the little things kept coming out of it all over the car. Would other washings mitts be like this?
What would be the next best step to add between wash and wax? and if the Zymol is ok to be using because my car sits outside most all the time and under trees.

1. A polish nourishes the paint, and restores the gloss, and depth. A was will provide a layer of protection, and seal in your results under neath. The gloss the wax has will also add to the results underneath.

2. Well, some fluff can come off right at first... But something of good quality from Meguairs wont keep doing that for long.

3. Well, the 5 step process is:
1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Clean
4. Polish
5. Wax

So, all those steps go into getting great results.

If i remember correctly the turtle wax car soap strips off the wax in a couple or 3 washes.

Pretty much the best car soap i have found is the NXT, found at Walmart. Its around 5 bucks for a big bottle.

Another excellent car wash soap is the Gold Class, Target has 1/2 gallons at an affordable price.

If you bought the sheepskin wash mit, it will stop linting after a wash or 2.

If you can get the Megs Even Coat Applicator, found at Walmart($3 for 2 i believe), it will give alittle more cleaning ability when using a cleaner wax, more than a foam type applicator.
