  • Deep Crystal System Question

I just bought steps one and two-the polish and the cleaner-and I am wondering if I can substitute NXT wax for Carnuba wax of step three? I already have NXT wax and don't want to buy more it if I can avoid it. Thanks for your help!

Yes, most definitely you can substitute the NXT Tech Wax for the Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax.

    A couple of notes...

Neither the paint cleaner or the polish needs to dry before removing and in fact letting them dry may make them more difficult to remove. For these two products, simply apply them, work them in and then remove them.

For the NXT Tech Wax, you want to apply a thin coat and then let it fully dry before removing it.

Paint cleaners and polishes don't need to dry
    Waxes need to dry

Are you going to clay the car also? Have you inspected the finish to see if it needs to be clayed? If so, claying should be done after washing and before applying the paint cleaner.

"in fact letting them dry may make them more difficult to remove."

Learned that the hard way with Scratch-X. Do NOT apply that stuff like wax...

I'm glad you can substitute NXT Tech for step 3. I've got a half bottle that I was hoping I could use instead of paying 13 bucks for the carnuba.

The finish is already very smooth, even the hood and roof. I don't think I have to clay...

Since there's no pics of my car around here I'll trow one up here.

Certainly not the newest or fastest car anywhere, but it's reliable and prolly the best Tercel Wagon around, which gives me a lot of pride. Considering it's a daily driver that's seen almost 20 Canadian winters (which are made easier w 4WD), it's great IMHO. I owe a lot of that to Mequiars' products!

      Thanks for your help, Mike.

Off to cause it to rain..
