Heard from Mike that Extra is being discontinued. I hate to hear that. This stuff is great. I use it for cleaning interiors, degreasing engine compartments, cleaning the barbeque grill, etc. You get the picture. It's like 409 on steroids, but it is non-corrosive and safe in my experience. I really wish Mequiar's would reconsider axing this product. It has been my all purpose cleaner for a while.

Last I heard this product was discontinued. There may still be product in the pipeline so to speak so you may still be able to find it in stores and online.
While it works really well, it can stain or dull anodized aluminum and polished aluminum and because a lot of engine components have this kind of surface it has caused enough problems to warrant discontinuing.
I'll check to make sure, but this was the last I heard on this product. -

Well the Extra is on the cutting block!!! Exactly where on the block is it? I do not know, but will find out. I know it is near extinction so if you have any and like it garb it up. I am in contact with our marketing department to find out a replacement product for it.

The Extra formula is just too good to let die.
I also heard that Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner has been discontinued. That's a shame, because it was a great cleaner.

I have not used it my self but sounds like many people like it, kind of a bummer its on the way out.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad new on this one. There is one option. Our Heavy Duty Carpet Interior Cleaner (G9416) is very similar to Extra, not as strong because of the types of surfaces it is used on. But still a great choice to use in place of it in many applications.Comment
