  • How to store D180101 Iron Decon

Can this stuff attack metal cabinetry while in storage ? If its strong enough to dissolve iron particles from clearcoat, how will the vapors deal with being in an enclosed metal 'typical' garage storage cabinet ? I should also mention i live in Florida, so summer my garage turns into a very hot and humid storage box !

Once upon a time, i used to keep my pool chemicals inside my garage, till it started eating anything and everything that was metal around where it was stored. Sure i'm guessing, muratic acid and chlorine are far more corrosive than Iron Decon.. But Iron Decon, is on purpose meant to dissolve metal particles. Hence the question. Plus it stinks to high heaven, so really wondering where to put this can of worms stinker. I've since moved all my pool chemicals to their own heavy duty plastic storage container around the side of the house. However things are pretty intense in there. Like hold your breath when you open it up, or it feels like you're scorching your lungs ! Wondering if its safe to store my D180101 in there.

For all my other gallon detailer line products, i keep em in the house, under climate control, but not this stuff. What are you other guys doing with it ?

I got my problem figured out. I got my hands on an Opsak bag. These are odor proof plastic bags, meant for camping, so the bears are not attracted to your food. Much different from a regular ziploc. For the sprayer, i just washed it out afterwards, and though it does still smell somewhat, if the smell doesn't go down in a couple of days, i can just pitch a $3 sprayer. But the gallon jug, now its in this opsak bag, and the best part is i can store it where ever the heck i like ! My nose can't detect the rotten egg smell from an inch away. A top tip to those who are looking at somewhere to store their stinky jug of D1801.

Great idea with the odor proof bag. We would still recommend storing at room temperature & not expose the product to prolonged extreme heat or cold. This storage recommendation goes for all of our products.
