  • Moved, how best to store my Meguiars products?

Hey all. I have a question. I few years ago I moved from Los Angeles area up to Cleveland.

Obviously this is a bit of a climate shift. And I didn't even think about it until I noticed that it appears that the consistency of some of my products that I keep in the garage is different. I'm assuming this is due to the freezing temps that comes with this new area. The garage isn't heated, but definitely doesn't feel as cold as outside on a winter day (I don't have a permenant thermometer in the garage right now).

Are keeping my Products on a shelf in the garage fine even through the winter months? Or does this mean that everything on my shelf is now bad? I don't detail as regularly as I used to before I moved, but I want to make sure that I can do it and that my products are ok to use when I bring them out.

In summary: how do you properly store your Meguiar's products in a cold climate? Thanks!

Well, you generally want to avoid freezing.... Some stuff wont matter as much, but polishes/waxes could separate.

Most of the stuff is ok after a good shaking to mix it, and if the consistency seems smooth and not separated, should be ok.

But getting a little corner or tub in the basement would probably be best for the winter...

Products should not be exposed to extreme heat or cold. When a product freezes, it can spoil, and when a product spoils, the performance will be dramatically reduced.

I bring in all my products. When I have a car, I'll heat the garage up before I bring them down.

Thanks everyone! Looks like I need to get the shelving in the garage done (that I've been putting off).

Let's try again...got truncated for whatever reason.

A bit late to the 'party', but living in an area where -30F are not unusual, I put everything in a couple of boxes and it all goes to the basement.

I do have a heated garage, but with my luck the heat would go toes up.
