The backing plate change I think came about in 2014.
Although not in the kit, there is a new polishing M302.
Although not in the kit, there is a new ultra cut microfiber disk.

Has the Meguiars DMCKIT5 DA Microfiber system been updated?
Hey guys,
I just saw on amazon that the DMCKIT5 Microfiber correction system now comes with the DBP5 meguiars backing plate. What else has changed? e.g size of apron or something? Also has the box/packaging changed? A picture of the updated kit will be nice if anyone has it. Btw this means that the old backing plate that came with the kit has been discontinued?
I hope to get some more info about it as I intend to purchase a kit.
