      Hey zr123

Some of those swirls and water spots look a little deep into the clear coat. You will need to use ScratchX and a lot of elbow grease to try and remove the marring.

This may be a good opportunity to consider buying a Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher (7424 or 7336). Using the PC, and Meguiar's #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish on a W-8006 Polishing Pad, you would save a TON of work and would get better results than doing it by hand.

If you decide to complete it by hand, it will take some work, but it will make a huge difference!!!

2hotford thanks for the suggestion... I'm trying to work up to either a PC or the G-100... any suggestions as to what might be a better investment?

Also, I was thinking of getting some better clay... the standard clay that comes with the quik detailer really requires me to work hard! My hands get pretty dead after doing say the hood for like 10 minutes... Maybe something from the pro line?

        Thanks

You can restore your car's finish with ScratchX and some enthusiasm, but it will be faster and easier with a dual action polisher. Invest in the machine, then after you learn on your car, show a few friends, detail a few cars for money and you'll have paid for your investment and probably, accidentally started a part time business. (Happens all the time).

As for clay, you can order our C2000 Mild Clay from our Professional Detailer Line, you get a huge hunk and it's more aggressive than the Quik Clay but you won't get into trouble with it like you can with the Aggressive version.

As for your wheels, either clay them, or ScratchX them, and probably both in that order. After your finished and you decide you never want to do that again, only purchase chrome wheels with flat face designs for good looks and easy care and cleaning, for the rest of your life.

            Hi Mike,

Thanks for the advice! I think I will be getting the G-100... just trying to see if I can catch a good deal somewhere.

Also in regards to the claying and Scratch X I do try to put as much as I can in... but if you recall I had posted about the BMW... it took me about 10 minutes to do the trunk, and 15 to do the roof and thereafter my hands were dead!... lol... and the trunk is so tiny compared to say the hood... I was thinking perhaps the Mild-pro line Clay would work better?...

As for the Scratch X does it remove condiments like the clay would?... even if I used a DA to?
