  • Buyer Beware! Meguiars DA Polishers = Low Quality

Although I feel that the overall quality of Meguiar's products is fantastic, I feel the need to warn anyone considering one of their DA Polishers. I bought a G110V2 from them early 2014 and used it probably a total of 8 times before it recently stopped working.
I called Meguiar's and there is nothing that they can do for me. Of course it's just out of warranty which is convenient for them seeing as since they no longer support this machine, if it were still under warranty they would have had to send me a new one. They did offer me $75 for it but I'm hoping a place like Tool Mart will be able to fix it.

Things break, I get it but for Meguiar's to offer no options for the repair of a 2 year old machine with the MEGUIAR'S name on it is ridiculous. To anyone out there looking to purchase a new DA Polisher....I strongly recommend spending the extra money and get a higher end machine from a company who will support it when something goes wrong on it and it's outside of warranty.

Well ... meg don't actually 'make' the DA, it's just a branded product made by some blokes in China.

FYI, I own a G220V2 since 2011 , same thing just the EU version, they included spare sets of magnetic brushes in the package, and like most high rpm/opm power tools you're supposed to replace the brushes periodically as noted in the manual.

if you want better build quality, give 'FLEX' a quick search. Those were made in Germany.

I realize that they don't make it but they put their name on and took my money.

Yeah, I understand. But I'd guess Meg themselves can't actually fix the thing other than offer a warranty replacement like many other out sourcing companies practiced . But since it's out of warranty, have an electrician take a look at it and see if it's the brushes, it can be accessed on the side via a round cap and can be easily replaced.

doesnt mean they are "low quality" just because one of them broke down out of thousands

Not even 3 years olds, low useage, and it's broke....I call that low quality. Read around this forum, lots of problems with this thing.
