  • What to use

Hi, just got my self a new van for work Ford transit custom sport in black I live in the middle of nowhere & have a lot of farms to pass to get home so would like to know what's the best wax or polish, sealer to use on my van. Also just bought a MT320 so that should help the job along All this is new to me so look forward to your replies.

    Re: What to use

There is no single application of a product that will prevent the van from getting dirty. What we're doing now is regularly "boosting" the wax with spray wax, or "Quik Wax", and a waterless wash, such as Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere, as needed. Because of this, it no longer matters what wax is used, because it will be boosted and replaced over weeks and months until you can/need to re-apply the regular ways. So-called "sealants" and coatings are marketing, not reality. The finish still gets dirty and still needs to be properly cleaned and maintained.

Lots of threads are here to read about it all. Hope it helps

Hi Top Gear, Thanks for the reply. Having a good look around the forum. Loads of info, too much for my little brain Won't to give it a good polish & then put a wax on so its just a case of a good wash at the weekends.

            Re: What to use

I know you said the van is new, but does it need any paint correction done? Does it have any swirl marks or scratches that need removing prior to wax? Black will be the colour to really highlight those sorts of marks, so it is best to remove them first if need be.

Did you purchase any pads with your MT320, or just the machine itself?

Hi Selectchoice, yes there is a few swerl marks on the van. It's a 14plate with one previous owner 18.000 miles on the clock. Got a full set of pads Red,yellow & black & backing plate & a nice bag to put everything in. No polish or any thing.
