  • Ultimate Wipe and Supreme Shine Microfiber

I have been using either terry cloth, or the supreme shine microfiber towels i got recently for removing waxes, polishes, cleaners. Is there any advantage or anything to using the Ultimate wipe, or are they meant for removing certain products? I havent been using the Supreme Shine too long, does one hold up any better to washing out the wax, polishes, etc? Seems like they are both in the detailing sections of the E-store, maybe it doesnt really matter?

both are great mf's! the supreme mf is bigger, plusher and obtains more product. i like both.... i use the supreme mf to get most if not all the product, and then an ultimate wipe for the final wipe down. can't go wrong with either of them! it's a matter of preference....

Both are very good, but the Supreme Shine is even better! The place where you will notice the most difference is when using a quick detailer. For removing cleaners and polishes you will see no difference. For removing wax, there is very little difference.

Just wanted to get more info on the differences. Seems like there must be more than edgeless. If not, sorry for the "bump".

Agreed 100%. I also use Ultimate Wipe as a final wipe-off, especially for wax removal, as it leaves absolutely nothing but clear surface.

Re: Ultimate Wipe and Supreme Shine Microfiber

I love the Ultimate Wipe. I use it to remove both quick detailing spray and waxes. IME, it works better for both tasks than normal microfiber towels, in which category I would include the Supreme Shine towels. It seems to work a bit better in removing product from the paint surface. Folks may seem surprised to hear that I prefer it for the removal of quick detailing spray, but I sometimes experience streaking with quick detailers on my black Honda, and I have learned that the Ultimate Wipe works better for me.

I like the Ultimate Wipe for removing wax - IMO the weave of the Ultimate Wipe removes dried wax better than the longer fiber Supreme Shine towels.

I find the Supreme Shine towels are great for detail sprays and removing compound - the longer fibers (compared to Ultimate Wipes) seem to absorb and hold more "residue" than the Ultimate wipes.

I agree, which is why I always use two Ultimate Wipes when I am removing quick detail spray.

I will second the use of the Ultimate Wipe for removing wax. It's great for removing wax/sealant, and I like it for windows as well.

Also, the UW never leaves fibers, so it is great for any type of final wipedown.

Yes! Thank you for reminding me of this. I've been having linting problems with some of my regular microfiber towels, especially when buffing off quick detailing spray. I have not experienced linting with my Ultimate Wipes, though.

I like using the UW for the final wipe down.

I'd certainly get one to try...

You will like it for something, if QDing, or UQWing, or wax removal, final wipe, etc.

have any of you guys seen the frayed edges along the sides of the Uwipe? Im wondering if the manufacturing process has changed along the way or been outsourced or changed ... just received a trio and they all have hard frayerd plastic etchings protruding along the sides ... serious QA fail
