Fabric top + tree sap

Hi guys !

I am looking at Meguiar's Convertible and Cabriolet Cleaner, but cannot seem to find a mention regarding its ability to remove tree sap - can it?!

Also, this relates to a single spot of sap, ca 4x4 mm only, on a new top, so I was wondering whether there is something in the household I could use instead...

(this is a Porsche Boxster fabric top)

I would try a hair dryer to soften the sap and wipe with a towel you can fold and dispose of after. If going well use a old clean toothbrush to finish.
