Recently purchased a Brand New Volvo V60 Polestar and the dealer installed the special swirl option for me at no charge. Due to the rarity of the car, I had to source one 8 hours from my home town. The dealer that I purchased from have admitted fault and offered $200 to have it "buffed" out. I wouldn't agree to anything until I took it to a local detailer that I know and have seen their incredible work.
The detail shop has quoted roughly 10 - 15 hours to fix ($1000 estimated)
Once I sent the quote to the dealership it was pretty much crickets. The salesman was the only one that would continue to respond and kept promising deadlines that the owner or manager would get back to me.
Finally I called Volvo Customer Relations and then the got some responses. They have asked me to bring the car to my local dealer to have it looked at. I have already expressed no dealership will touch the paint and they suggested a high end body shop in town.
My question, do I trust a body shop to this type of work or stick to my guns and only have the detail shop repair the car?
