  • Fiberglass fender stress crack help

i have wide fiber glass fenders that apparently weren't wide enough now i have a few stress cracks running hortizontally. never really worked with fiberglass before what steps should i take to seal? and minimize look of crack? would they buff out at all with normal detailing processes. i feel like i am dealing with something a lot different than paint scratches. if there is a good chance i will get other items painted this spring should i just wait and have them fix it? i havent posted in a long time but am a capable detailer all advice is appreciated.

I am not an expert by any means, and I'm just spit-balling here...

So fiberglass can be a little more flexible than say, a metal car body. I'm thinking that what your looking at is the result of the fiberglass flexing and the paint giving because of it. Again, just spit-balling. I'd love to see a pic of the damage and also of what you have the wide body kit on!

Thanks guys, I figured it would come down to pictures but my phone was dead last night, will post up a photo tonight.

I am thinking sooo to on the cracking.

And it probably isn't as cool of a car as you want it to be.

I have wide fenders on my 2.0T 400whp VW CC.

Man, I'm in to Mustangs, but I can appreciate a cool car. There is a VW, same color as yours but I want to say its that higher end car, in our area with nice wheels and airbag suspension. It looks sick aired out!

If they're stress cracks I think it will just need to be repainted.

I have a spider crack on my bumper that's below the clear. Only way to fix it would be to repaint.
