Hi guys, i have a little experience detailing cars by hand, but i am looking to step up to a dual action polisher for applying polish and wax, probably get a porter cable. I have a 2014 toyota corolla, definitely not a show car, i just want to keep it in good condition. It only has light scratches and i do not believe it will need a heavy cut polish to correct it. I am looking at using the 205 with a finishing pad on it to take the light scratches out, is that accurate? Let me know what your opinions are, trying to start with the least agressive polish first. Thanks!

Re: New to detailing
Sounds like a good starting point. You can move to a polishing pad if you need more correction.
If you don't already have pads, the Meguiar's thin foam pads in 5" would be perfect for the PC.

Re: New to detailing
Welcome. When I started out I was looking at the Porter Cable but ended up looking online and got a good deal on Gariots Garage. If you watch sales on the detailing websites you can get some deals. Mine came with some pads and a backing plate. I love it. Mainly bought it for my own cars, but have done several others with it too.2017 Lexus RX 350 - Satin Cashmere Metallic
