    Hi,

fairly new to the detailing thing, but i have a quick question regarding the polishing stage.

having got into the 2 bucket method for cleaning and reading about different types of paint correction and waxaing etc.

given that my Nissan 350Z has paint that is well known to be thinner than a thin thing on a diet, how many times can paint work cope with the polish stage, before the CC is blown through, and requires a respray

i did contemplate getting a paint thickness gauge to see just how thin, but many of my panels are plastic (GRP) or aluminium so i don't think it will work

any advise or guidance gratefully received
