  • Fresh Paint new hood pad

I was hoping someone could give me a little advice related to a fresh paint job. I have a new underhood pad and brand new paint under the hood. Would it be better to wait before gluing on the new hood pad, and if so how long? Since I am not worried about discoloration like with clearbra material will it form a stronger bond if the paint and glue cure "together"?

    Thanks!

Typical recommendation for applying a protective wax to a freshly painted panel is 60 - 90 days. Typical recommendation for color sanding, or any compound or polish steps is 24 - 48 hours. We would imagine it would be best to wait a couple months to apply the under hood pad and would not recommend experimenting with trying to get a stronger bond with the glue and paint curing together.
