  • Plastic Chrome Swirls

Recently did a paint correction on my 2009 Honda Accord Sedan. I original used the following chain of products as I am new and was trying to figure out out to do a paint correction: scratch x 2.0, UC, UP, ULT ALL from Meguiars.

Window cleaner I used Stoners invisible glass.

DA polisher I used the new soft pads from Meguairs.

    My question is...

Is it possible that any of the product mentioned above if used without extra care around the plastic chrome trimming, can create the swirl marks on the plastic chrome???

Is there a solution to the plastic chrome swirl marks?

Also, can any of the above products listed above also cause auto glass swirls?

I didn't notice anything until a long nighttime drive through New Jersey and my eyes were straining due to glare.

    Please help!!!

The polishes / compound you used may have caused the swirls. It was most likely the UC. This is why you should tape up all trim etc before a correction.

Never mind, you should be able to remove or improve them with a gentle application of a cleaner wax, or your UP on a foam applicator pad.

The products you used wouldn't swirl glass...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

What did you actually use on the glass?

For windows I used the stoner invisible glass cleaner with paper towels.

Are you saying that defects can be polished out of faux chrome?

I too would like to see some before and Afters of your process

I don't have any pics, sorry.

But I have removed minor imperfections out of plastic chrome by lightly polishing it...

Could be left over residue if the cleaner was not removed completely. The two towel method is the way to go when cleaning glass. Invest in some nice glass cleaning towels.
