I have been talking to a friend about detailing his 2006 Porsche Carrera. It has a clear plastic bra on the front of the car and he has asked me about removing it. Has anyone ever removed one? How did you do it?

Re: Removing Clear plastic "bra" from front of car
I've seen them removed with a hot air gun...Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Re: Removing Clear plastic "bra" from front of car
I removed one that was on for 6+ years. I was able to get 90% of it off in large pieces when the car was in direct sunlight. The rest I used plastic razor blades and Goo Gone (gel) and allot of patience.

Thanks everyone for their response. I am tempted to recommend to my friend to just leave it on instead of removing it and damaging the paint. Anyway, it is up to him. It appears that I can use a hair dryer and peel it off.Art Layton
