  • Removing Clear plastic "bra" from front of car

I have been talking to a friend about detailing his 2006 Porsche Carrera. It has a clear plastic bra on the front of the car and he has asked me about removing it. Has anyone ever removed one? How did you do it?

I think they just peel off..but leave behind residue that you have to get rid of...why does he want it removed? It might detail out and look acceptable again..

I've seen them removed with a hot air gun...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I removed one that was on for 6+ years. I was able to get 90% of it off in large pieces when the car was in direct sunlight. The rest I used plastic razor blades and Goo Gone (gel) and allot of patience.

Thanks everyone for their response. I am tempted to recommend to my friend to just leave it on instead of removing it and damaging the paint. Anyway, it is up to him. It appears that I can use a hair dryer and peel it off.
