Re: Applying Ultimate Liquid Wax
Ultimate liquid wax is thin film technology. Thin application is the key to achieving the best results. Granted, it is hard to see, especially on light colors. If you are applying by hand, just take your time to ensure complete and even coverage. If you have a DA polisher, work small areas with overlapping passes. In either case, apply wax to the entire vehicle, then come back and start removing it from the first panel you waxed. Many people apply a second coat after removing the first coat to ensure complete coverage. If you miss removing wax from a few spots, no worries. In different light, you should be able to find any missed spots. It takes a while to develop your technique but patience and attention to detail will pay off in the end and you'll get great results. You should be able to wax the entire vehicle with a little over an ounce of product.

From time to time press the applicator against the paint before applying new product on the face of the applicator. The foam applicator will load up with product. Doing so will remove the product that builds up within the applicator.
Similar to what Mike does with the foam pad on the DA seen in this thread.

Also, just touch the face of the applicator with your fingers. If it's wet, then you're still applying product - that's how thin you want it.
Are you applying indoors or outdoors? How's the lighting? I agree that it's hard to see, but try moving your head at different angles. Or do what I do and just make a "mental note" of where you've been as you wax. It can be hard, but just do your best. And have fun!Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
