  • Which product to maintain the seals around the windows?

When I lower down the windows of my car, I hear that the seal is a little stuck to it and I think that's going to damage it eventually.

Is there any Meguiar product available to maintain this seal and prevent it from sticking to the window?

Ultimate Black is my choice for rubber and plastic, including window seals. It soaks in and rejuvenates, and smells great. It can streak and smear on the glass and paint from rain, so make sure it has time to cure and settle, say a few days without rain.

M40 is the best for this. IMO.

First thing is to clean the glass. There could be something causing it to stick.

          Agreed with both statements.

I like to use M40 to clean and rejuvenate rubber seals, and then follow up with another product like Ultimate Black to protect them. The key with rubber is getting off all of the old oxidized stuff before applying a dressing or protectant.

You would be surprised what you can't see. I have the same situation on my Camaro with the rubber trim leaving some sort of residue on the inside of the glass. I have to regularly clean it when I hear the squeak. Sometimes it can be seen and sometimes it can't.

What do you use on it? Ultimate Protectant? Ultimate Black? Back to... Or maybe another product?

I would say the safe advice for OP would be M40 Rubber & Vinyl Cleaner and Conditioner.

For me I don't have a solid preference as I tend to use whatever happens to be closest at the moment. I use D114 or APC to clean the weatherstripping, if it's already clean I use either D115, Hyper Dressing, New Car Scent Protectant, QID, D180, D156 and last and least Ultimate Black Gel. I find all of them, with the exception of the last work equally great for me. But lately I've been geared toward sticking with D156 if I had to choose. If I had M40 I'd probably pick it over the rest.

I don't use anything between where the rubber seal meets the glass. I will clean that area out with glass cleaner and a towel when I am cleaning the glass. It's just built up residue that accumulates over time. On the external trim that is exposed to the elements I will use some kind rubber protectant and on the inside i will use whatever protectant I use on the interior.
