hi everyone so I washed my car and detailed it, now I need to wash my microfiber rags. I am thinking of using a bucket with some detergent and just wash it by hand and rinse in another bucket of water, would this damage the towels?

Re: Cleaning microfiber rags
Just toss them in the washing machine with other MF towels (dedicated load). Cold or warm wash, no fabric softener.
Then dry in a dryer on low heat, no dryer sheets..Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Re: Cleaning microfiber rags
I have 25 Microfibre Cloths for Windows and 25 Microfibre Cloths for removing polish, I wash the window and polish ones separately in warm wash with liquid washing soap and no tumble dry, lately the windows have lint on them with the clean wash cloths. Any ideas?

Re: Cleaning microfiber rags
Hmm... maybe they're picking up some lint from the washing machine?
Also, cheaper quality MF towels can tend to lint.Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. Re: Cleaning microfiber rags
So you don't want to be wasteful by doing a load of washing for only a few items (fair enough), yet you throw MF towels away after use?Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. Re: Cleaning microfiber rags
Growing up, we always used "towels" for the bath/shower/beach, and "rags" for everything else, particularly anything having to do with cleaning. Calling the Meg's SS a "towel" was odd to get used to, and a bit pretentious for a cleaning rag
Anyway, I just put them in the washer together on hot, as I do separately with the MF/foam pads. This makes them like new again, as the spin cycle in particular draws out dirt you can't soak out, but if they're really dirty, I might pre-soak/rinse as needed. I don't wash my washing mitts, but just wring them out.Non-Garaged Daily Driver, DAMF System + M101, Carnauba Finish Enthusiast
