  • Where to buy detailing goodies

In the past I have used the Meguiars site and Autogeek to make my online purchases that I can't make at the local Auto Zone or Walmart and I am still willing to do this. I am just curious what sites you guys use for making your purchases. I have tried looking at the local auto body supply stores here and they have not heard of half the stuff I am talking about. I think online purchases are my only option.

Some of the items I am looking for are...
    IronX
    Wheel Woolies Wheels Brushes
    Speed Master Wheels Brushes
    Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner
    Meguiars Hyper Dressing
    Meguiars Tire and Trim Gel
Meguiars new 5-inch foam pads and backing plate

Thanks Guz. I did not know about Autopia. I will check them out. Do you find that any of these sites are any better on price than the others?

Autopia is the sister site to Autogeek. They are both owned by PBMG. Autopia has better shipping prices and they have been having sales with flat rate shipping at $6.95 so keep an eye out for those. I have had good experiences at all places.

        Detailing.com is another place.

Quick question How often does Autogeek do their 15% sales ? I wonder if its worth my while waiting.

I need to buy some D170, D120, D101, D108 and possibly some D156 (just to try out)

Another site worth a look is: http://www.autoality.com/store/pc/home.asp
They happen to be just across town from me in the Northern Suburbs of Pittsburgh, so I visit in person from time to time, but their $4.95 flat rate shipping makes it attractive even across the country. Normally, pricing is consistent with Autogeek etc., but you can enroll in their Detailers Club for some substantial savings.

Sign up for their newsletter and Autopia Car Care's newsletter. They are under the same ownership of PBMG and are in the same location. Both have a sale almost every week.

@TheDoc46. That's a great shopping list! I agree with the places the guys recommended. It sure does help to go with the lowest price to ship.

Thx, as far as hobby's go, and really this is only just a therapeutic hobby for me, detailing isn't too expensive and very rewarding! The MT300 & pads was the most expensive purchase. Outside of the buckets, waffle weaves, MF's, grit guards. Really all you need to be really complete is the above, some D115, D114, D155, D149. Some clay, UP, ULW and UC and you pretty much have just about everything you'll ever really need in bulk to last you a long long time.

                      @TheDoc46.
                      1. Doing the proper research and deciding on products of the highest quality & best value that fit your needs + gallon sizes to last quite a long time.

                      2. Being able to maintain your 2 VW's to look as new as possible for as long as possible.

                      3. Protecting your investment. [because new cars aren't cheap]

                      4. Seeing the difference between your cars compared to your neighbors cars..

                      5. Your neighbors seeing the difference between their cars, and your cars. Lol.

                      Rewarding indeed! Kudos to you
You've done a fantastic job of getting this detailing thing down pat. You bought what you need, not what you don't.

Now all you're going to need to do is post some pics of your great results

                        another suggestion

I usually buy from either detailing.com or autodetailingsolutions.net

Both sites always seem to have the lowest prices online, and both carry EVERYTHING from consumer grade OTC products through professional product lines and equipment.
