  • Best way to fix PO touch up job? Pics.

What would be the best way to fix the previous owners touch up job? Not looking for show quality just better than it is now.

Langka the blob eliminator works but is tricky to use. It would get most of that off to a more manageable state.

Looks like you have some rust starting in the first pic, so you're getting into more problems than just a slop job of touch up paint. The rust is going to have to be completely removed before any paint correction can be done or else it will come back and make matters worse which is going to mean total paint removal in a fairly large (relatively speaking) area. If it were me, I would seriously consider having a body shop repair the rust & respray the entire panel for a permanent, quality repair.

True Don ,but my reasoning was to start with Langka to soften and try and wipe away most of it.
Then start with isolating the area with tape and wet sanding lightly. Inspecting frequently as you go.
The rust spot would sand with a creased piece of sandpaper. Then of course prime it with a toothpick and touchup paint the same way.
Followed by levelling with a wet sand and then compound/polish.

The way the paint looks in the pic we know the paint is beat. If a quick fix or a big fix is warranted we would need more feedback

I don't know if it's loctite wd40 or whoever but they make a spray that will remove the rust and seal it. Just b careful and mask the part off. Then u can touch up over it.
