  • too much or just fine with the wax

i'm a bit confused and need to know if this order is too much wax and polish.
    the order.....1.wash
    2.clay
    3.ult.compound or swirl x
    4.polish(ult)
    5.show car glaze #7
    6.hi tech yellow wax #26
7.ult wax(paste) or nxt tech wax 2.0 (paste)

color of car....black ...just would like it to look good..and have it ready for the hot summer here in GA. I don't have any problem if this will cause a dd to look like show car.I want the protection and gloss.thanks

Some guys will wash after claying, I just mop it up with a microfiber.

After step 4 on my 11 year old Grand Prix I use Ultimate wax followed by M26.
Otherwise, it's all part of the experiment.

    But definitely switch steps 6 & 7.

Or just two of step 7, no step 6.

Also, Ult. Quick Wax after future washes will extend everything.

Both good points. Typically it's a sealant topped with a carnauba. NXT is a sealant. You won't need M7 as UP has enough polishing oils. If you are looking to experiment and try something a little different I had good success with experimenting with this combo M205 > UW > M7 > M26. It was a lot of work and the car looked great.

            My suggestion:

            1.wash
            2.clay
            3.ult.compound
            4.polish(ult)
            5.ult wax(paste)
            6.hi tech yellow wax #26

Re: too much or just fine with the wax

#7 is a pain in the *** to get off completely and you don't really need it unless its single stage paint.
