Help Needed, New car paint problem

Hi Guys,

I just purchased a new 2015 Honda Fit. When I test drove the car and checked it out there were no noticeable problems. The dealer detailed and cleaned the car before I drove off in it. However, when I left it was dark, so I couldn't get a good look at the car. The next day I noticed these weird milky spots on the hood. I tried to do a quick polish to see if I could remove them, but they are not going anywhere as it seems they are underneath the clear coat. Have you guys seen anything like this before? If so, how can I fix it. I am really trying to avoid going back to the dealer, as I do not trust them with it.

It looks like something was spilled on the paint and stained it. It's new paint, so this shouldn't be a case of CC Failure. I'm afraid that a repaint is going to be needed.

Try some UP with a gold ccs lake country pad on a DA if you have a da. If not you can work it by hand with a good quality foam or microfiber applicator pad. It will just take longer. If this does not remove the stain, then try UC. However, I'm not sure that it is a stain. The pictures look more like clear coat failure to me, but it being that new of a car: that does not make any sense.

If I were you I wouldn't try doing anything to it. That is something the dealership should be adressing. Good luck...

I agree. They probably just glazed it to make it look good and it washed off and now you are seeing all the defects. Let us know how it goes.

We agree completely. This looks to be a serious paint defect from the factory, or possibly damage that happened in transit from the factory to the dealership. Either way, if you start working with it and something starts to go wrong, it's darn near impossible for you to then prove that you did not cause the damage. Take it to the dealer ASAP and have them look at it.

The best way is taking the vehicle back to the Dealership that you have purchased from and let them take care the rest, but is seeing in the picture, the stains were probably occured when the vehicle was one the way to dealership from factory for sure and that stains seem to me that some kind of chemicals were dropped and stayed on the top of the CC for a long time and etched down under the CC.

Best option is to go black to dealer and have them fixed with a written same warranty for other new paint area of your car.
Some Dealers are expert in hiding defect temporarily...Good luck.
