Well that's good news. Did you apply a wax afterwards to protect your hard work? When you are ready to do another correction an iron remover comes in handy.

Re: Claying - Hearing and Feeling Contaminants?

      Hi,

Today morning I washed my car and started the detailing step 1. I have to apply compound , polish and wax.

I washed the car and dried it using megs magnet MF. Then I used carpro ironx on the paint. The smell is very bad but still i sprayed te entire car . Took a sponge and spread the product across the all the panels. After five minutes I the car again. Now the paint felt smooth. But since my car is just two months old I did not much difference in the smoothness, though i have seen some iron contaminants bleeding out my car paint(can not observe as my car is black color).

I have some questions about the process.
      1) will five minutes make the ironx work on the paint
      2) i just rinsed my car with water is it safe and recommended.

      Thanks in advance.

        Hi guys,

Yesterday night I did claying on my car. But to my surprise I did not see any contaminants getting picked up by te clay bar. It may be because I used Carpro IronX prior to claying. So I stopped the claying step and proceeded to ultimate compound and polish.

I did everything by hand. There are som many swirls on my car as I have mentioned earlier, but UC worked like a magic and removed 90% of the swirls marks and made my paint look awesome. I applied light pressure while applying te UC and buff'd it with a MF. May be the DA will remove 100% swirls marks. But I am quite satisfied with the result. Then I applied polish which gave the paint lbdeep glossy look.

        I love meguiar's products.

I did just one panel my trunk in ine hour since this is my first time.planning to finish the entire car today.

Google the baggie test. That will let you know if you need to clay or not.

IF you do not feel any with the bag the clay is a wasted step IMO Also when I clay i do not apply pressure I only let the clay glide over a very wet surface. Lots of lube and back and forth motion. IMO.
