Just that, what exactly is clay? Well I know what it is and what its use is... but is it natural clay from the earth? or is it a man made product just called clay? or is it a mix of both?

Clay is a synthetic, (man-made), polymer substance with a special abrasive formulated into it.

        Enter the Clay bar
Clay bars are non-abrasive bars of synthetic clay called Polyclay.

This is what the meguiar's site says under the 5 step cycle but you are saying that it does contain abrasives.....?

Yes, but not the kind that will scratch your paint. (Think about it, hundreds of thousands of people clay their car, if it were scratching paint, you see someting posted to a forum by now).

By the way, Enter the Clay Bar, is a play on a title from a Bruce Lee movie.
