  • Help me with a Boyscout Waterless Detail Fundraiser!

Hey guys, I am working on becoming a professional detailer, at the same time I sell some waterless products for extra cash. One lady interested in the products wants help with creating a fundraising opportunity for her boys to go to a boy scout jamboree. Her boys are 6 and 11, she would help them obviously. They are homeschooled so she says she has time, and has found some interest from people who would allow them to detail their vehicles. She would only be having them do the outside, using a great waterless wash product that is a protectant as well. I advised her that it would take some time to do a whole car, she seems confident enough. Any tips on how to work her fundraiser? She says she lives outside Salt Lake City, UT and she wants to charge $50 for an exterior wash, and extra for tires, rims, and headlights. I sell a product that is good for the tires and rims and headlight btw, so that's where the extra would come in. I believe she needs to raise around $3400, i'm not sure of the time frame, but i'm guessing a couple months seeing as winter is coming. She also wants advice on if she needs a business license to do the fundraising, what kind of disclaimer she would need about damages and things, how she would word the advertisement to be honest but also interesting to potential customers. I'm a little worried that she's underestimating the hard work involved, and whether her boys are up to that kind of patience. lol She has a good idea, she'll go to offices and explain to them her fundraising opportunity and see if she can secure a whole parking lot, or at least as many as she can, and work in that one place until they've finished. I like her spirit, and the idea, but I'm new at detailing myself so any advice I could give to her from you gents would be great! Thanks for the help friends!
