Deep Crystal PC vs Ultimate Compound?

I am currently working on my inventory so I have a good all around selection of products. I have some Deep Crystal PC at home, along with step 2 & 3. I was wondering what the difference was in the Deep Crystal PC and the Ultimate Compound?

I am also wondering what the diffence is between the professional products and the consumer line. Obviously the cutting products are mostly in the professional lines but things like cleaner waxes and carnuba waxes, etc. Thanks guys.

Ultimate Compound features the latest in abrasives technology. DCPC excelled in cleaning paint, but often left swirls and scratches. Personally I find UC more versatile, and far more effective at combating ailments in modern clear coat paints.

From what I understand, the compounds polishes and waxes found in the Mirror Glaze line are available in larger quantities, are rotary buffer compatible, and in select products "body shop safe" meaning they don't contain silicone or any other component that might interfere with paint adhesion. Obviously, some waxes are an exception.

The misconception is that Meguiar's products available locally are "inferior", and that just isn't the case. Especially in regards to the Ultimate line.

As far as replacing DCPC, I use either SwirlX, or Ultimate Polish in it's place. If I need the big guns, I reach for Ultimate Compound.

Awesome thanks. I am looking for something to tackle general swirl marks in paint from going through Mike's, etc. I have some cleaner wax and DCPC but was wondering what the latest and greatest was. Plus I've had it for well over a year, so not sure if it's still good. Liquid.

You can't go wrong if you pick up some Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Compound to add to your arsenal..

Deep Crystal PC was basically a chemical cleaner, not an abrasive cleaner. As such it struggled to remove more severe defects, although it did do a great job of brightening the paint overall.

The primary difference between the Mirror Glaze pro line and the consumer line is that the pro stuff is designed primarily for body shop and OEM use - basically for environments where fresh paint is being applied. Most all of them are designed to be applied via rotary buffer, the primary tool in those industries, with some also DA or hand application compatible. We are able to take some of that technology and port it down to the consumer line. Specifically, Ultimate Compound is a direct derivative of M105 (same SMAT abrasive set, etc) and Ultimate Polish is derived from M205. The primary difference in the two Ultimate products is the addition of some ingredients that make them easier to use (less dust, easier wipe off, etc) but are not suitable for use in a body shop. The differences between the Mirror Glaze waxes/sealants and the consumer waxes/sealants are a bit less dramatic. M21 is very similar to NXT Tech Wax 2.0 and M06 Cleaner Wax is sort of like our A12 Cleaner Wax in the consumer line, only on steriods. There is no Mirror Glaze equivalent to Ultimate Wax, however.
