I am new at detailing and I am looking to buy a DA. If money is not an issue would the Rupes 15 be to much for a newbie? I am hoping to attend training on DA use. As a college professor I believe in education and believe me I understand I need education in the art of detailing.

    Thank you for your help.

I don't think it would be too much. It's still a DA and therefore quite foolproof.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

      Re: rupes

I have the Rupes 21 and it works really well both in ease of use and paint correction ability. For someone new to detailing the 15 may be more suited to your needs. Both are really effective machines though, and really live up to the hype.

I wish I had bought mine much sooner!

I have used/had/have Rupes 21, 15 and Duetto. In my opinion, the Duetto is the most versatile of the 3. It is more compact, and has almost the same throw as the 15. It will fit into tighter places, but still provide effortless paint correction.

I was about to say to get the Duetto. I have been looking at that one myself to replace my PC.

I'll have to give yours a go one day!

Sure thing. You will have to get at least one swirl in your paint to make a test worthwhile though...

                  ^^ Ha ha ha

I've actually got two RIDS at the moment which I've been meaning to go after for a while now.

Well, actually they're more like RIS (they're not deep, just towel marks).

                    Towel marks? Pfft, too easy...

I'm sure I have some coarse steel wool around here somewhere we can use on your paintwork to make this a REAL test for the Rupes.
